Aneleda came out to talk about her year as an East Kingdom Bardic Champion at Bangor’s PechaKucha Night.<\/p>\n
The presentation was called “Sing Loudly and Carry a Big Stick.”<\/p>\n
I had 20 slides, and 20 seconds to talk about each one. The idea isn’t that there’s a lot of backstory, you are supposed to assume that the audience is just right with you as you go. I was actually terribly nervous, even though most EK courts have a far larger audience than the lovely group at the Bangor Opera House.<\/p>\n
However once Aneleda began to talk about her year, it was clear that the joy and passion and fun of all of it came through. The audience was really with her, as the spotlight glinted off her new coronet.<\/p>\n
Below are the slides from the presentation. The photos are montages of pictures by Camille DesJardins, Jennifer Guyton\/Cateline la Broderesse, Meredith Bailin Hull, and Tannis Baldwin. They were shown on a move-size screen on the stage, and I could not have told my story without them.<\/p>\n
Justin Russell took this video of the presentation. It was to an audience of many ages, and I believe, no SCAdians at all. (Though there was one professor of medieval history!) Some of my details were fuzzily reconstructed in the spotlight and rush to stay with the slides, but the *story* is true, and that’s the thing, isn’t it?<\/p>\n
