Fine tokens come from this one’s hand,
\nHis graceful talents in demand.
\nBursting from within,
\nJoyful is our din
\nLauds begin through the land.<\/p>\n

Now gather Maunche Companions here
\nfor Gwillim Kynith, whose career
\nbrings forth attention
\nand with contention
\nascension with much cheer.<\/p>\n

Steady his hand paints glass so red
\nA hundred men have ate his bread,
\nDelights us to sing
\nAs sounds soft lute string.
\nDancers spring at his tread.<\/p>\n

Many find his most pleasant brew
\nInspires fine tales both old and new
\nWhich he could transcribe.
\nBut dance and imbibe
\nand ascribe him his due.<\/p>\n

There is no greater thing than art
\nto wound or soothe, its gifts impart.
\nOne who can so ply
\nMay on art rely
\nto comply from the start.<\/p>\n

By his work the worker is praised;
\nEvery craft is wealth, it is phrased
\nSo beyond measure,
\nArt, precious treasure,
\nour pleasure is thus raised.<\/p>\n

Granted by the the Companions of the Order of the Maunche, writ by the noble hands of Gryffith King of the Mighty East, and Aiketerine glorious Queen, this January the twenty-ninth anno societatis forty-five, at the Marketplace at Birka in the Barony of Stonemarch.<\/p>\n

Uh GWAITH uh GAHN-mole uh GWAY-thyur.
\n(The AI as I in “might”, the O not *quite* as long as in “mole”, the AY as in “way”).<\/p>\n

Cyfoeth pob crefft.
\n(Every craft is wealth.)<\/p>\n

kuh-VOYTH pobe KREFT.
\n(The “kuh” pretty much as in “k’BOOM”, “pobe” as in “robe” but a bit shorter, the “VOYTH” like “voice” with a lisp).<\/p>\n

About the style of the poem:
\nThe clogyrnach [clog-ir-nach] is a Welsh quantitative verse form. It contains 32 syllables in a 6-line stanza. The first couplet contains eight syllables in each line; the second, five; the third, three. (The last couplet may be written as a single, 6-syllable line.) The rhyme scheme is aabbba.<\/p>\n
