{"id":2115,"date":"2024-03-11T18:12:06","date_gmt":"2024-03-11T18:12:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mbouchard.com\/aneleda\/?p=2115"},"modified":"2024-03-11T18:13:00","modified_gmt":"2024-03-11T18:13:00","slug":"pelican-boast-for-brenden-crane","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbouchard.com\/aneleda\/pelican-boast-for-brenden-crane","title":{"rendered":"Pelican Boast for Brenden Crane"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>I was asked to boast Brenden into the hall for his elevation to Pelican January 2024 at Birka<\/em>. <em>I created a boast to read during the whole of the procession, which began at the back of the Birka hall and ended (fortunately!) just as the Crane family approached the thrones.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n<a class=\"wp-block-read-more\" href=\"https:\/\/mbouchard.com\/aneleda\/pelican-boast-for-brenden-crane\" target=\"_self\">Read more<span class=\"screen-reader-text\">: Pelican Boast for Brenden Crane<\/span><\/a>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>O crowded hall, come and greet this noble thane<br \/>Who captures images and hearts, Brenden Crane.<br \/>I&#8217;d boast of a man of great humility<br \/>Simple, for his virtues are easy to see<br \/>So much for his fellows our fine friend doth care<br \/>the honors he loves are the honors we share<br \/>So much that on paper this man did implore<br \/>His boast be an homage to those here before<br \/>To people he never knew but in name<br \/>Their mark upon friends in his heart lit a flame<br \/>That heart, so open, that he wears on his sleeve<br \/>While its steady beat inspires us to believe.<br \/>Yes, name them he bid me, so name them I will<br \/>For while scattered to realms they are with us still.<br \/>Our Dear Caroline and beloved Julien,<br \/>St Liam and ernst, who serve now much as then,<br \/>Don Jehan, Aimee, and of course, Gregory\u2026<br \/>Their stories are guides, like the stars ore the sea<br \/>Shine bright on the whale road Brenden rows upon<br \/>While observing the sky &#8211; in night, day, or dawn.<br \/>His generous spirit and kindness to all<br \/>Have touched many gathered as one in this Hall<br \/>He would never suspect when we look at him,<br \/>We feel those constellations burning within.<br \/>That light he reflects on both pauper and queen,<br \/>And casts out the shadows so we can be seen.<br \/>This boast with no boasting, I fear is in vain<br \/>So proudly I boast SEE OUR FRIEND Brenden Crane.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was asked to boast Brenden into the hall for his elevation to Pelican January 2024 at Birka.
