Only one person may be so recognized and named as such during a reign.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>There was some conspiring and Thyra asked if I&#8217;d write the words for her scroll. I was given some inside information that Catrin had a strong connection to the\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">allegorical play &#8220;The Marriage of Wit and Science&#8221; by John Redford, written in the 16th century. (<\/span>You can read it here\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ancientgroove.co.uk\/books\/redford.html\">http:\/\/www.ancientgroove.co.uk\/books\/redford.html<\/a>.)<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I included nods to her arts in the theatre and mumming, in creating the Laurels vs Pelican&#8217;s event, and generally about how awesome we all think she is. I enjoyed referring to her as &#8220;Mistress Wit&#8221; &#8212; she is someone I greatly admire and am proud to call a friend.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Here is the scroll text that I created for her, very heavily based on the words of the play. I had the pleasure and honor to also read them in court.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friends, we thank you for these your pleasures,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Taken as chance to meet Our measures,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Speaks Brion, King of Eastern Lands <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As Anna, Queen, joins voice and hands,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Give place, we say now for our adulation!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Give place, give place to earnest declamation! <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Where is that Wit that we seek, then?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Behold! She kneeleth here, bereft of plan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yet, wont to help all, if that she can.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O Mistress Wit, how dost thou? What hath began?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Give place, we say now for our adulation!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make space, make space for honest recreation! <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lo, know this artistic connoisseur<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the name Catrin o&#8217;r Rhyd F\u00f4r <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mark her dancing, her masking and mumming!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amusement and puissance e\u2019er coming <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Her writing, her acting, daily and nightly;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Find more for the spirit than there?
